NEW GROWTH
An exhibition celebrating Black Artists and their visual expressions of growth, in all of its diverse forms.
New Growth, held in February 2024 at The Village DC, celebrated the rich and diverse expressions of growth within the Black experience through the work of 20 exceptional artists. Drawing inspiration from the term "new growth," often associated with the new hair that emerges after a hairstyle, Sacha Reid aimed to not only showcase compelling stories but also create a welcoming space for the DC community to gather, share meaningful conversations, and exchange personal experiences, reflecting on their own growth.
Spanning themes from personal transformation to communal prosperity, self-love to relationships, and artistic to spiritual growth, the exhibition wove these journeys into a cohesive narrative that inspired connection and fostered a sense of community.
